As an educator, you’re on the front line of public education in your community. As an association representative, you’re the go-to person at your building or work site when your colleagues need help with an issue or concern that affects their jobs.
Your job as an association representative is one of the most valuable positions in your local and MSEA. You’re the liaison between your fellow school or worksite staff and the school administration or job supervisors.
Where the association’s presence is strong, there exists an atmosphere of mutual professional respect among faculty, staff, and administrators, so the more you know about MSEA and your local association—how we protect your rights on the job, improve salaries and working conditions, fight for school resources, and work for improved student achievement—the better equipped you are to handle your colleagues’ concerns.
